  • Setting up your iPad

    • Set up with a new account using their new special ed ipad email address and password and Terri Mitchell's information
      • BE SURE TO ENTER THIS INFORMATION ACCURATELY! TRIPPLE CHECK!
  • Maintaining your iPad
    • Wash your hands
    • Cleaning your device
      • No bleach
      • Screen cleaner
      • soft cloth
    • This device belongs to the District, not to you (usually), so take care of it, don't write on it, don't put stickers all over it, etc.
      Cables
      • Plug

    • Caution - don’t drop, leave in pockets and wash in the laundry, get wet, leave in the car (stolen/melt), put next to a keycard (ie. hotel keycard)
    • Cases, cover, screen protectors - SpEd will talk about this.
    • Power Button - on and off
    • Home button and slide to wake up
    • Power button to put to sleep
    • Force shut down - power and home button
  • Basic Use
    • Home Button
      • to wake up
      • to return to the home screen of apps
      • to search
      • double click to see recent apps and other options - Multitasking bar - removing apps from this
    • Flicking through screens
    • Tap to open apps
    • Tapping within apps to navigate and access settings
    • Using the Keyboard (caps, caps lock)
    • zooming in and out
      • two-finger tap
      • spreading and unspreading fingers
    • Moving/deleting apps
    • Creating app folders
    • Sound & headphone jack
      • Some sounds play even when its muted
    • Safari - take them to the csdapps site and login to verify their email address
      • This will take you to the Apple site to complete the verification
      • Also go to iCloud to finish verification
    • iTunes
      • using a redeemable app code
      • finish the account verification - if it doesn't work, then this is a practice and they will do it again later at another location
      • Apps you purchase vs. apps your school purchases - individual purchases vs. VPP - copyright is the reason behind all this
      • Free vs. paid apps
      • DO NOT PUT REDEEMABLE CODES FROM SPED ON YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT.
    • Adding a website to your desktop - AimsWeb (if there is time)

    • Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Adding your District Exchange account (using the screen shot to show how to fill in the blanks) - Do this at the end only if there is time or if anyone wants to stay after
